Bad Breath Is Often Caused By Dental Problems by P., Piero D.D.S.

Bad Breath Is Often Caused By Dental Problems by P., Piero D Isabel Marant.D.S.
Bacterial plaque, bad breath and dental problems are all directly linked.

The anaerobic bacteria that live in the mouth cause bad breath or halitosis, dental decay, periodontal disease and gingivitis. Anaerobic means living in the absence of air. These types of bacteria are mostly the ones that cause disease.

Some dental issue definitions are:

Bad breath - the odor produced by bacteria living off food particles, each other and dying tissue. Bad breath can also be caused by other more serious health issues. An example of this is diabetes that can cause acidosis which in turn causes bad breath.

Dental decay - caused by the acidic excrement from the bacteria. The tooth is literally being dissolved by chronically being bathed in this acid.

Gingivitis - the inflammation of the gums caused by your own body trying to fight off the invasion of the bacteria.

Periodontal disease - (perio = around, and dontal = tooth) the loss of bone and tissue attachment around the tooth. It is caused by a microbial invasion around the tooth by anaerobic bacteria.

Between the teeth, along the gum line and on the surface of the tongue is where the film of plaque grows best. The odors and acids accumulate in these areas. The plaque is produced by the bacteria. Bad breath is caused by not being able to keep the population of bacteria under control. In most cases poor oral hygiene is the culprit. Cleaning teeth twice daily is the minimum requirement for reducing the population of bacteria. However, meticulous cleaning is difficult. Tooth brushing does not access in between teeth and often causes ridges and grooves along the gum line. Oral irrigating does not cut through the sticky greasy barrier the plaque produces.

Alternately, bad breath is caused by infections from dental decay, gingivitis, or periodontal disease. Once again, poor oral hygiene is the biggest reason for these infections huanghaiyan118. Unknown to most people, is the fact that improper flossing may take an infection from one part of the mouth and spread it to a healthy part. The infections also produce dead tissue, which add to the food feeding frenzy of the bacteria. The gasses from the dead tissue are what you smell.

There are other factors that contribute to the bacteria and odor besides food and infection. Smoking, mouth breathing, alcohol based mouth washes and certain medications increase dry mouth. Reduced saliva in the dry mouth does not allow your mouth to remove the bacteria that cause the odor.

In addition, the bad breath odor may be from sources other than the oral cavity. Some medical conditions cause bad breath isabel marant bobby sneaker in craie. Infections in the lungs, nasal cavity or sinuses can cause odor that is associated with bad breath. Bad breath in diabetics is a rather common occurrence. And finally, less likely, but still possible, bad breath can be associated with certain conditions related to malfunctioning kidneys and some cancers.

Because bad breath is so repugnant to both the individual who has it as well as those in which they come in contact with, it is important to maintain a thorough oral hygiene regimen that includes cleaning the teeth at least twice, if not three times every day.

The Effortless Way to Get a Six Pack - the Missing Link to Fat Loss by Anthony alexander mcqueen dresses Chapman

The Effortless Way to Get a Six Pack - the Missing Link to Fat Loss by Anthony Chapman
Are you committed to a six-pack workout at the gym or at home? Is your dream of achieving perfect abs and a trim waist evaporating together with any sign of progress? Did you know a good night sleep is one of the most important issues for losing body fat? Fail to get enough sleep and go to bed on time and you will be doomed with battling with your fat levels forever. Taking the steps with changing your habitual sleep patterns over the next few days and weeks can have immediate effects on dropping fat from your body.

Sleep is one of the factors behind controlling one of the body's most important hormones for dieters. The hormone is called cortisol and happens to be a fat storing hormone. Cortisol is influenced by light, which means you should aim to wind down before bed avoiding all bright lights You need not to be a Hollywood star just to have the right and privilege of wearing an alexander mcqueen dresses, it is every woman's freedom to own and wear a Alexander Mcqueen for as long as they want.. Cortisol is also connected to our natural body clock. Going to bed late will prolong the release of cortisol and keep it elevated at a time when it should be low.

This important information shouldn't be dismissed from your arsenal of fat fighting strategies and quest for six-pack abs. It can seem like a lot of dedication going to bed early especially when the ideal time is 10-10.30pm. In this day and age of late night TV and the Internet there are plenty of reasons to keep us occupied into the small hours. Watching bright TV screens and staring at the computer just before bed is the worst thing you could do to wind down, the light from both is enough to keep cortisol levels high.

You should aim for 8 hours sleep every night if you are struggling with losing body fat and getting your abs to make an appearance. Going to bed at midnight and getting 8 hours sleep isn't the same as going to bed at 10.30pm and getting 8 hours sleep. We have a natural body clock built in to us with the times set for certain hormones to peak and dip throughout the day. Staying up late will send your natural rhythm of hormone secretion out of balance.

I hope it is clear that keeping cortisol levels high at bedtime is your worst enemy for fighting the bulge and achieving perfect abs. Putting together and applying an action plan to get you in bed earlier each night until you reach the ideal bedtime is the easiest way to accomplish the next step in your fat loss programme. Especially if you are a die-hard night owl like I once were.

As there are countless benefits to be gained from health and fitness, a majority of those determined and conscientious about their well-being strive to attain such state by resorting to various means. It is very elementary that the principle behind healthy and successful weight loss is through a balanced diet, a regular exercise regimen and the aid of proper supplementation. Such is the power combination to guarantee weight loss. As easy as it may sound, though, weight loss actually takes time and can be an arduous test of ones patience and commitment. Aside from the fact that a healthy diet requires applying limitations to the foods eaten and exercise demands deliberate effort, impediments can likewise present themselves during the whole process of losing weight such as a weight loss plateau.

When initially embarking on a fitness program, an individual may have the drive and enthusiasm being eager to be on the road to fitness. In fact, during the first few weeks, apparent results can be obtained. But during the 8th to 12th weeks, a weight loss plateau can get in the way thereby discouraging the eager individual in their pursuit. Because of the weight loss plateau, it is as if the fitness regimen has come to a dead end. A weight loss plateau usually occurs from 8 to 12 weeks since the induction of a fitness plan as the body has become comfortable with the fitness routine.

Changes in the body may no longer manifest during the weight loss plateau as the body has already grown accustomed to and has been conditioned to the diet and exercise habit. A weight loss plateau can dampen the get up and go spirit of an individual as the vision of a fit and trim body suddenly becomes bleak. A weight loss plateau is generally a common occurrence but there can be measures that can be taken to combat the dreaded situation. They key to avoid a weight loss plateau is concealed within one word: variation. When on a fitness plan, it may be sensible to change an exercise routine every 4 to 5 weeks so as to do away with a weight loss plateau.

For instance, when one is used to working out on a treadmill, shifting to an exercise bike after 4 weeks may be the simple trick to shun the weight loss plateau. When doing some weights, changing loads or increasing the reps can also be helpful in eradicating a weight loss plateau. As with aerobics exercise, a weight loss plateau can be prevented by maintaining 70% of the maximum heart rate even when shifting exercise methods or fitness equipments. The same can be said with dieting. Every now and then, there must be a diversity of healthy foods taken in so as not to encounter a weight loss plateau.

Changing routines on a regular pattern of 4-5 weeks not only serve to avoid a weight loss plateau but to keep the individual stimulated to adhere to the fitness regimen and such is necessary for the weight loss plan to be successful. ADHD, Overweight and Obesity- The Chicken Or The Egg by isabel marant fur jacket DR. Nelson Mane DC

ADHD, Overweight and Obesity: The Chicken Or The Egg by DR. Nelson Mane DC
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is associated with over weight and obesity. This relationship has been established in the scientific literature yet not well understood. We see from the studies below that children and adults with ADHD are more likely to be overweight when not medicated. We also see that ADHD children who are medicated are more likely to be underweight. This is expected as the most common medication for ADHD is methylphenidate a drug knows to have side effects indicated decrease appetite and weight loss. So much so that methylphenidate has potential and reputation for abuse. Here are two recent studies regarding to the relationship between ADHD and weight.

Department of Community Health, Brown Medical School, Box G-S121, Providence, RI 02912, USA. [email protected]

OBJECTIVE: As the prevalence of childhood obesity increases, identifying groups of children who are at increased risk of overweight is important. The current study estimated the prevalence of overweight in children and adolescents in relation to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and medication use. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This study was a cross-sectional analysis of 62 887 children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 years from the 2003-2004 National Survey of Children's Health, a nationally representative sample of children and adolescents in the United States. Attention-deficit disorder/attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder was determined by response to the question "Has a doctor or health professional ever told you that your child has attention-deficit disorder or attention-deficit/hyperactive disorder, that is, ADD or ADHD?" Children and adolescents were classified as underweight, normal weight, at risk of overweight, or overweight according to BMI for age and gender. RESULTS: After adjustment for age, gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and depression/anxiety, children and adolescents with attention-deficit disorder/attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder not currently using medication had approximately 1.5 times the odds of being overweight, and children and adolescents currently medicated for attention-deficit disorder/attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder had approximately 1.6 times the odds of being underweight compared with children and adolescents without either diagnosis. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides heightened awareness for pediatric providers about the relationship between attention-deficit disorder/attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, medication use, and weight status. Future work is needed to better understand the longitudinal and pharmacologic factors that influence the relationship between attention-deficit disorder/attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and weight status in children and adolescents.

1Division of Preventive and Behavioral Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurobehavioral disorder that affects ~2.9-4.7) in patients seeking weight loss treatment suggesting an association between ADHD and obesity. The objective of the present study was to test the association between ADHD and overweight and obesity in the US population. Cross-sectional data from the Collaborative Psychiatric Epidemiology Surveys were used. Participants were 6,735 US residents (63.9 female) aged 18-44 years. A retrospective assessment of childhood ADHD and a self-report assessment of adult ADHD were administered. Diagnosis was defined by three categories: never met diagnostic criteria, met full childhood criteria with no current symptoms, and met full childhood criteria with current symptoms. The prevalence of overweight and obesity was 33.9 and 29.4, respectively, among persons with no history of ADHD. Adult ADHD was associated with greater likelihood of overweight, (odds ratio (OR) = 1.58; 95 CI = 1.14, 2.64). Results were similar when adjusting for demographic characteristics and depression huanghaiyan118. Mediation analyses suggest that binge eating disorder (BED), but not depression, partially mediates the associations between ADHD and both overweight and obesity. Results suggest that adult ADHD is associated with overweight and obesity. Obesity (2008) doi:10.1038/oby.2008.587.

The question remains: Does having ADHD predispose you to being overweight or does being overweight predisposed you to ADHD? Our model proposes that it is the thing associated with being overweight predisposes you to ADHD. That is modern society's lack of exercise and increase screen time (T.V., video games, internet). If we look at the last 2 decades when Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder have increase drastically we find that during this time in western cultures, fast food, video games and computers also have increased. Our model proposes that it is the lack of exercise (kids playing video games instead of being outside playing) which disturbs motor development as well as input from the postural and antigravity muscles to the brain which is a factor in the under connectivity and functional disconnect syndrome associated with ADHD and ASD.

At a recent lecture I attended regarding childhood neurobehavioral disorders a clever cartoon was put up on the screen to make a point isabel marant fur jacket. The cartoon showed an overweight boy drinking a coke and eating a bag of chips while sitting in a chair playing a video game. This child's mother tells the child that it's time to take his medication. The boy's response "not now Mom I'm playing football." Exercise has been shown to not only reduce weight and improve health but also improve cognitive function.

This is not to say that enrolling the child in soccer is going to be the magic pill that solves everything. It is simply a suggestion that in a condition with many associated possible causes this may be a contributing factor or at least an aggravator. Let's face it these kids are picky eaters and at times letting them play video games is the only thing that calms them down and helps mom and dad not pull their hair out. But it seems at times as if they may be locked into things that can hurt them long term and all of us involved with these children need to be aware.

Dr. Mane offers one on one consultation as well as Group Seminars for parents and children who suffer from Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorders. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation or to attend a seminar please call 813-935-4744 Isabel Marant.
